Coaching, Mentoring & Training
Your business, government or organization probably has staff who can attend to Indigenous issues, but they may be unsure about how to proceed or lack experience in this field.
We offer clients blocks of our professional time to meet with staff and help them brainstorm and problem solve. Mentoring and Coaching can help a client deal with new issues as well as increase the capacity of their staff in Indigenous matters. Coaching sessions can be on an “as needed” basis or be held on a set schedule.
Or, are you an Indigenous Consultant who has many of the skills and much of the experience needed for your clients, but could use some help in certain areas? For example, you may be an expert in relationship-building but have less experience in negotiating Benefit Agreements, treaties or other complex understandings. Dave can fill in those gaps for you by either directly participating or by helping you in the background in your work for your client. Or, perhaps you would like someone to read through and comment on your proposals to potential clients and offer advice on how they might be improved. You can benefit directly from Dave's experience and expertise and provide a better product to your clients.
We have also developed a Risk and Relationship Management Training Module. The one-day module provides background on Indigenous rights and title and gives insights into cross-cultural matters.
More than this, though, our module concentrates on helping participants recognize risk factors, learn how to integrate risk management into their project plans and activities and – importantly – how to minimize risk by building beneficial relationships with First Nations.
Dave has delivered this Module multiple times to corporate and industry clients and the feedback has always been very positive.
We offer half day or full day training and can customize the module to address the specific challenges of your industry, government or organization.
